ABIGAIL GRACE WOODS Obituary

Abigail Grace Woods, age 20, of McCalla, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 21, 2026.

She was born October 15, 2005 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of Ben and Samantha Surber Woods.

Abby, as she was affectionately known, was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend. When she entered the room her big, bright and beautiful smile immediately radiated. Her smile was infectious; you couldn’t be around her and not smile and laugh yourself. Abby had a way to allow her sweet spirit and bubbly mood to leave you better than when she found you. A sweet soul, she loved fiercely and unapologetically.  A mama’s girl through and through, Abby had an endless love for her family. The best “big sister” anyone could ask for, she was always watching out for her two younger sisters.

Like any young girl, Abby had so many interests and hobbies. She was artistic and talented in so many ways – especially with drawing. She had a love for music, being with her friends and just simply enjoying life to the fullest.

In her youth, Abby was saved at Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she accepted the Lord in her heart and into her life. It is a great comfort to know that she now rests safely within His arms.

Although our hearts are broken, it is that sweet spirit, bright smile and beautiful laugh that will live on forever in our minds and in our hearts. Her love for life, her family, her friends and the Lord will continue to flow into every precious memory shared of our beautiful Abby.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Mike Woods, Bertha Surber and Wathena and Garrett Daniels.

Left to cherish her memory, loving parents Ben and Samantha Woods, sisters Mollie Woods and Khloe Woods, grandparents Jimmie Sue Woods, Leo and Vergie Surber, great-grandfather Vince Surber, great-grandmother Mollie Messer, uncles James Michael Woods (Misty), Jessie Surber, Brandon Surber (Teona) and Michael Glenn Woods, as well as a large host of cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to name but all who will miss her so much.

The family of Abby Woods will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2026 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scotty Surber, Rev. Andy Daniels and Rev. Leon Surber officiating. Music will be provided by the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church Singers, of Forge Ridge, Tennessee.

Graveside Services to immediately follow at the Clarkson & Surber Cemetery, Tazewell, Tennessee.

Pallbearers will be her loved ones and friends.

Though her light may have been dimmed here on earth, we know she is shining brightly with the Lord, and we have the precious hope of seeing that sweet smile again one day.
