Bertha Imogene Settles Dameron, age 89, of Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
She was born on December 12, 1934 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Milton Kerny Collins and Sadie Ellison Young. Bertha was an excellent cook, especially her gravy and biscuits. She enjoyed gardening with her grandchildren and had worked hard her whole life. Bertha especially loved children and animals.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Tony Settles, stepsons David Settles, Elmer Settles and Ronnie Dameron, husbands Dan Settles and Charles Dameron and several siblings.
Bertha is survived by her children Bill Settles and wife Vicky, Susie Horton, Debbie Barnett, Sandy Marcum, Marie Willis, stepdaughter Mary Smith, siblings Mary Allen, Sadie Spradlin and Liz Morgan, grandchildren Carrie Pack, Annie Settles, Joe Settles, Angela Vanover, Tim Barnett, Tabitha Barnett, Adam Marcum, Jason Marcum, Karla Hubbard, Nettie Goodin, Danielle Goodin, Rebecca Boggs, Little Toni Settles, Sharon Dameron, 22 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ferlion Daniels officiating. Music will be provided by the Clear Fork Church singers and Alexis Pack.
Interment will follow in the Settles Cemetery in the Polly Hollow Community of Middlesboro, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Steve Pack, Joe Settles, Fred Settles, Travis Poore, Devon Hill, Roger Jones, Danielle Goodin and Karla Hubbard.
