BETTY LOU EARLE ASHER

Who can find a virtuous woman?  For her price is far above rubies.  Proverbs 31:10

Betty Lou Earle Asher took a beautiful, solemn, quiet, reverent, peaceful flight to her eternal home in Heaven on July 21, 2025, at the blessed age of 95.

Betty was born into the great family of the late Rev. Chidsey Curtis and Emma Sarah Earle.

She became a follower of her Lord Jesus Christ at a very early age.  She was a constant faithful servant throughout her life.

Betty was a member of the Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, Kentucky for more than 68 years.  Invited to this church by the Reverend W. B. Bingham II; it became her lifelong journey and passion to serve others.

Betty was a child of God, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, Sunday School teacher, choir member, led and mentored women’s Bible studies and prayer groups, participated in Giant Slayers Class, created and led women’s conferences, sang in the Binghamtown Quartet, hosted preachers, singers, missionaries and Christian speakers at a place in her home, she was a leader in the G.A.’s, Girl Scouts, Brownies, and a member of the Bell County Homemakers Club.  She was a selfless caregiver and transport person to any and all in need of those services.

She unconditionally loved her family, pastors, church family, friends, neighbors; save and unsaved alike.  Any and all were welcomed in her home.  She loved to pray, study God’s Word, listen to preachers, teachers, gospel music, old-time hymns, and share her Christian faith with everyone, including those who weren’t receptive to it.

Betty loved to cook, serve, and work in church functions; she was an avid bird lover, gardener of food and flowers, and a canner.  She used all of nature to witness to her children.  And by the way…she never missed a day to work the crossword puzzle in the Middlesboro Daily News.  Her intelligence was immeasurable.

Betty Lou Earle Asher’s presence on this earth will be sorely missed, but she now resides in her heavenly home, welcomed with singing, shouting, praising, hugs, kisses, and the stories from the Saints she only read about.

There is no doubt her God, her precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, along with family, met her as she took the nail-scarred hand of the One she longed for and He welcomed her with the words…”Thou good and faithful servant”, you are eternally home.  Your crowns are too numerous to count.  The shouts have rang out and the trumpet of your life sounded…The gates have opened…she has entered into the eternal realm of time.

Betty Lou Earle Asher has now been reunited with her husband, Caleb Asher, Sr., son Thomas “Tommy” Frank Asher, brothers Bob Earle, Pat Earle, James Earle, and Roscoe Earle, sisters Juanita Webb, Myrtle Jackson, Anne Whitaker, Mayme Siler, Ruth Cheathem, Edna Turner and Lenora Settles, beloved daughter-in-law Debbie Yeary Asher, step-granddaughter Candis Hill, step-daughters Shirley Murphy and Betty Lee and her daughter Valerie.

Betty has now passed the baton of servanthood and proclamation of who Jesus Christ is to her surviving family: her children: Chidsey Grace, Sonny and Connie Asher, Debbie and William Thompson, Tim and Tracy Asher, Joe and Becky Asher, and step-daughter Patty Meadows, grandchildren: Jamie Gordon, TJ and Hannah Gordon, Kevin Gordon, Jodi Asher, Todd and Stephanie Asher, Wesley and Sophie Thompson, Sarah and Tarick Sanchez, Amber and Michael Blue, Caelyn Asher, Trey Goins, Calie and Andrew Honeycutt, Michael and Judy Mills and family, Rachel and family, Matthew Hickey, Josh and Abby Hickey and family, Kimberly and family, Kenny Wayne Murphy and family, great grandchildren: Ryan Gordon, Seth Gordon, Tanae Gordon, Maddox Asher, Sydney Asher, Amari Houston, Macayla Garnett, Cade Robert Thompson, Hattie Jo Thompson, Olivia Reese Sanchez, Milah Grey Sanchez, Samuel Blue, Oliver Hickey, Ava Hickey, Kamble MacIntyre, Theodore Honeycutt, Vivian Honeycutt, great great grandchildren: Jiraiya McReynolds, Dylan Marsee, and soon to be born, Baby Girl Blue. And a host of special friends and many other family members. 

A beautiful tribute will be held at the Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, Kentucky on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro, Kentucky at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025. Family and friends will meet at Binghamtown Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. for an 10:50 a.m. processional.

Betty is at home, at peace and shouting on the streets of her eternal home.  She is forever in the arms of her Lord and Savior.
