BILLY MACK ELLISON

Billy Mack Ellison, age 73, of Speedwell, Tennessee passed away at his home on February 12, 2025.

He was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on July 14, 1951 to parents, William “Big Bill”  Milton Ellison and Patsy Lee Bean Ellison, who precede him in death.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Johnny Earl Ellison.

Billy Mack was a true southern gentleman and farmer known by everybody “down the valley”.  He loved the land and loved to farm.  He enjoyed being outdoors playing golf and was a winner of the state trap shooting competition. Billy was saved as a 16 year old young man and was a member of Pine Grove Church; he was also a member of Valley Star Lodge No. 577.  He was a loving family man who treasured his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and eagerly looked forward to any occasion to be with them.  He also had two dogs that were his constant companions, Bess Marie and Bree.

He leaves behind, Carolyn Gibson Ellison, his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, his three cherished daughters, Melissa Ellison McKinney (Jake), Amy Ellison Welch (Andy), Emily Ellison Burdette (Cory), beloved grandchildren, Jared McKinney (Carly), Ashlyn McKinney (Joe Dean), Clayton Welch (Destiny), Chase Burdette, Laura Burdette, beloved great-grandchildren Blakely Welch, Zenduya Welch, Grayson McKinney, Cooper McKinney, Kasen Dean, and a host of friends and family that will miss him dearly.

A visitation and graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Ellison Family Cemetery in Speedwell Tennessee with Rev. Jimmy Branscomb officiating.

Pallbearers will be Andy Welch, Jake McKinney, Cory Burdette, Jared McKinney, Clayton Welch, and Chase Burdette.

Honorary pallbearers will be C. J. Hopper, John Sanders, Darrel Evans, and Milton Russell.
