CARROLL GIBBONS

Carroll Gibbons, age 83, of Miracle, Kentucky passed away at his home on August 19, 2025.

He was born on July 9, 1942 in Black Snake, Kentucky and was the 7th  son of 16 children belonging to China (Wilson) and Bert Gibbons.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Media Sue (Wilder) Gibbons, sons, Carroll David (Rebecca) Gibbons, William Bert (Martha) Gibbons, grandchildren, Christopher (Cindy) Cox, Mesha (Brant) Buis, China (Robert) Virgin, Hannah (Greg) Beeler, great-grandkids, Maverick Cox, Meredith Cox, and 2 more on the way, brother, Truman (Phyllis) Gibbons, sisters-in-law, Dolly Gibbons, Susan Gibbons, Darlene Gibbons, Verda Mae Wilder, brother-in-law, Billy Joe (Louise) Wilder, special friends Darrell Powell, Lonnie Madon, and Thomas King Evans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Robin Renee, granddaughter, Olivia Karoline, brothers and sisters, Glen (Sadie) Gibbons, Jerlena (Richard) Combs, Jewell (Jim) Cole, Ules Gibbons, Coy (Lola) Gibbons, Chester Gibbons, Harold Gibbons, Shirley (Doug) Cundiff, Francis (Hank) Blair, Vivian (Jerry) Brown, special friends Bert Marcum and Henry Howard.

The family would like to extend special thanks to niece, Teresa Green and great-niece, Leslie Johnson for the care that they provided.

Carroll was a deacon at Whipple Missionary Baptist Church for over 20 years.  He spent the majority of his work career in the mining industry; owning 2 companies.  He was an avid farmer and loved nothing more than going out to his neighbors when they need a helping hand doctoring an animal.  In addition to mining and farming, Carroll loved to hunt any animal in season.

The family of Carroll Gibbons will receive friends Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Green Hills Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bert Gibbons, Rev. David Gibbons, and Rev. Glen Dale Gibbons officiating.

Graveside services will follow at the Gibbons Family Farm Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. C.A. Moore, P.C. Green, J.L. Boatright, Tom Gambrel, Brent Pursifull, and Thomas King Evans.
