CATHERINE JANE WILSON

Ms. Catherine Jane "Cathy" Wilson of Middlesboro, Kentucky, was called home to be with God on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the age of 75.  She was born August 11, 1949 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Middlesboro, Kentucky.

Cathy was a graduate of Middlesboro High School, Class of 1967, and attended Eastern Kentucky University, Lincoln Memorial University, in which she earned her Master’s Degree in School Counseling.

She was very passionate about education and teaching.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents; Jack Morton Wilson and Ruth Mildred Skelton Wilson, her baby brothers; James Michael Wilson and Robert Curtis Wilson, sister-in-law; Sherry Francisco Wilson, and cousins, J. W. Wilson of Georgetown, Kentucky; and Arthur Wilson of Louisville, Kentucky.

Survivors include her nephew, Adam C. Wilson (Ashley) of Harrogate, Tennessee. Great nieces and nephews, Shaun Kade Smith of Harrogate, Tennessee; Chelsea Grace (Johnathan) Elliott of Jacksboro, Tennessee; Olivia San Marie Wilson of Middlesboro, Kentucky; Jakob Allen Smith of Harrogate, Tennessee; and Madison Mullins of Speedwell, Tennessee.  Great great nieces and nephews, Willow Saige Elliott of Jacksboro, Tennessee; Ozzlynn Marie Elliott of Jacksboro, Tennessee, Jackson David Joseph Ledford of Middlesboro, Kentucky.  Special family friends, Ingrid, Amanda, and Sarah Moore of Middlesboro, Kentucky.  Other survivors include: Nancy Deacon Lawrence (Gary) of Gainesville, Georgia; Van Deacon (B’ene) of Cleveland, Tennessee; Emily Wilson Miller (Mike); Lynn Miller McCarty (Joe); Brenda Skelton Pierce (Jim); Phyllis Skelton Ioos (Richard); all of Louisville, Kentucky.

Special thanks to all of the medical staff at Middlesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center, Middlesboro ARH Hospital, University of Tennessee Medical Center, and Bluegrass Navigators.

We would also like to give special thanks for the many prayers, cards, and calls for Cathy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Middlesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center Activities Department (Kaylee Davis).

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
