Cecil Artemus Smith, age 79, a lifelong resident of Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away October 29, 2025 at Middlesboro A.R.H. Hospital.
He was born on May 10, 1946 and was the son of Vibert A, and Allie Fair Terry Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Bay Rutherford, mother-in-law Martha Ann Rutherford, son Jeffery Smith, daughter Julie Liane Smith, and sisters Gwen Brantly and Dorothy Hood.
Mr. Smith retired from Kentucky State Highway Department of Transportation as a highway inspector. He was a Christian and believed in the Holiness Faith.
He is survived by Elsie Mae Rutherford Smith, his loving and devoted wife of sixty years, his sons Robbie Smith and Kevin Smith, grandchildren Scott Smith, Chris Smith, Allie Smith, great-granddaughter Madlyn Elizabeth Smith, and a host of other relatives and precious friends who will miss him dearly.
The family of Cecil Smith will receive friends Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Kersey officiating.
Interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Smith, Kevin Smith, Scott Smith, Chris Smith, Charlie Ray Smith, and John Gibson, Jr.
