Clyde Creech, 80, a resident of Middlesboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 8, 1945, in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late Frank and Verna Creech.
Clyde served as Coroner of Bell County for 29 years and was the owner of Creech Funeral Home from 1978 until 2013. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dr. W.B. Bingham II and Mae Bingham, and his sister-in-law, Aleene Creech.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonita Bingham Creech; his son, Jason (Mandy) Creech; his grandsons, Alex and Dawson Creech, whom he adored; his brother, Glenn Creech; his brothers-in-law, Conley (Nancy) Bingham, Garry (Melissa) Bingham, and William Boyd (Joan) Bingham; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Private funeral services were conducted on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Gateway Christian School.
