Dannie Lee Johnson, age 76, of Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away February 11, 2026 at Middlesboro A.R.H. Hospital after a long illness.
He retired from J. M. Huber Land Corporation where he was manager and responsible for building up the coal, oil, and gas companies in this area as well as Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Johnson of Harrogate, Tennessee and his mother, Reda Pace Johnson of Middlesboro, Kentucky, his sisters, Ruth Ellison, Marnell Hamlett, Norma England, Barbara Pace, and Wilma York.
He is survived by, Diane Caldwell Johnson, his wife of 46 years, and son Adam Paul Johnson, both of Middlesboro, Kentucky, daughter Lindsay Michal Townsend and Andrew Townsend of Kingsport, Tennessee, grandsons Avery Fuson, Liam and Kitt Townsend, step-grandkids Chandler, Maddie, and Aiden Townsend, mother-in-law Bessie Caldwell, sister-in-law Phyllis Pate, brothers-in-law Michael Caldwell and Charles Cardwell, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will miss him dearly.
His wishes were to be cremated and at his request no services will be held.
