Danny Stewart, age 77, a resident of Middlesboro, passed away on July 20, 2026 at his home.
He was born on August 8, 1948 in Arjay, Kentucky, the son of the late Onzie and Arlena Roark Stewart.
Danny was a true outdoorsman who loved being out on the lake and fishing. When he wasn’t on the water, he enjoyed collecting guns, knives and trading.
Danny served as a United States Marine, then later earned a living in the coal mines – a career he was very proud of. He was also a big blue fan – cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats in any sport.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Vanover Stewart and his brother Larry Stewart.
Left to cherish his memory, son Harold Ray Stewart, daughters Sharri Stewart and Shawna Helton, brother Joe Stewart, sister Darlene Hatten, grandchildren Cameron Vanover, Caleb Vanover, Dustin Vanover, Kenny Vanover, Gracie Vanover, Olivia Grace Vanover, Chris Vanover, Brandon Helton, Devon Helton and Madison Stewart, as well as a host great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Graveside Services for Danny Stewart will be held at 12 noon Thursday, July 23, 2026 at the Capito Cemetery.
