DARRELL BUSSELL

Porter Darrell Bussell, age 54, of Harrogate, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 7, 1969 in Claiborne County, to the late Porter Clifton and Imogene Mustard Bussell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Cheek, niece Brianna Bussell, nephews Heath Bussell, Todd Daniels and Robbie Mason, and sister-in-law Della Bussell.

Darrell was one of a kind, with a big personality that everyone enjoyed being around. He was a prankster who loved to play jokes on his family, and especially enjoyed scaring his sisters. Darrell also enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, and watching his favorite shows on T.V. Going to the beach was a joy for Darrell, especially when it meant he got to be with his family. He was a hard worker and a follower of Christ. Darrell was a member of Little Creek Baptist Church. His larger-than-life personality and the many memories shared will forever be cherished by those who loved him.

Left to mourn his passing, loving wife of 37 years, Judy Bussell, daughter Ashley (Konagher) Smith, brothers Clifton Bussell and Heath (Kaitlyn) Bussell, sisters Janice (Kenny) Mason, Patricia (Lloyd) Daniels, Rita (Mark) Louthan, and Pam (Mark) Hughes, grandson Dawson Smith, as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him so dearly.

The family of Darrell Bussell will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jackie Daniels, and Rev. Shelvy Fultz presiding. Music will be provided by the Little Creek and Poplar Grove singers.

Graveside Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Hazelwood Cemetery in Little Creek of the Forge Ridge Community. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home to follow in procession. 

Pallbearers will be Kenny Brown, Derrick Cheek, Trent Bussell, Trent Mason, Chantal Bussell, Mark McMillan, Hank Bussell and Gerrid Bussell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jordan Gibbons, Rusty Chumley and Jeff Brown.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Judy Bussell to help with headstone expenses.
