Dewie Albert Gibson II, age 54, passed away at his home in Tazewell, Tennessee on March 25, 2026.
He was born in Claiborne County, Tennessee and is the son of Dewie Albert Gibson I and Janice Tucker Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Katherine Gibson, his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Jean Tucker, and several aunts and uncles.
Dewie was a member of Cannon Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator in the coal mines. Dewie’s favorite times were spent outdoors. He could usually be found on his days off fishing or mowing grass. He loved his dogs and they were always tagging along behind him.
Left to mourn his passing, his mother, Janice Tucker Gibson, his father, Dewey Albert Gibson I, daughter, Courtney Harvey (Michael), grandchildren, Natalie Harvey, Alicyn Harvey, Katherine Remache, Benjamin Remache, Addelynn Mayes, Tyson Mayes, his fiancé Cecilia Clay, special cousin, Elijah Earls, special uncle, Sam Gibson, aunts, Jo Earls, Betty Warf, Barbara (Tony) Rigo, special friends, Jamie and Paul Green, and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family of Dewie Gibson II will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2026 at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Sampson officiating. Music will be provided by the Cannon Creek Missionary Baptist Church Singers.
Graveside Services to immediately follow in the Chumley Cemetery in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be Elijah Earls, Paul Green, Joshua Phipps, Michael Harvey, Tyler Baggt, and Dave Tibbits.
