Donald Wayne Cole, age 82, of Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away July 2, 2025 at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky following a brief illness.
He was born on November 5, 1942 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late John and Ethel Williams Cole.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Lou Orr and her husband, Harold Orr.
Donald was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who gladly served his country and was stationed in Germany. Donald, known as Donnie to his friends, was known for his sharp mind and his quiet demeanor. He attended Middlesboro High School and was a great historian of all things Middlesboro. He was an avid coin and stamp collector.
Donald is survived by his brother, Charles Cole and his sister-in-law Polly Cole, and his best friend, Ronnie Melton, nephews Harold Orr, Jr., Michael Orr, Timothy Cole (Crystal), niece Marcella Orr, great-nephew Hunter Cole, as well as other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
A graveside service will be held at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens gazebo on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Donnie’s nephew, Timothy Cole, will be officiating.
