DONALD MIRACLE

Donald Miracle, age 73, a resident of Middlesboro, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025.

He was born on January 4, 1952 in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Eugene and Ruth Borah Miracle.

Don was a long-time member of Covenant Methodist Church where he loved to sing in the choir and play bells. In his professional life, Don was a teacher for 27 years in the Bell County School Systems, 8 of which were teaching Kindergarten. His love for knowledge and teaching was recognized as he was honored 3 years running in the “Who’s Who of Mathematics Taught in American High School” – an achievement he was so proud of. A creative brain, Don also thoroughly enjoyed baking, cooking and even designing wedding cakes. He also loved to fish in his spare time. However, it cannot go without recognizing his immense love for his wife, Peggy, and the many memories they shared together; some of his fondest with her was traveling together and going to watch the Smokies play.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Miracle, brother Albert Miracle and sister-in-law Roslyn Lynn Barnett Miracle.

Left to cherish his memory, siblings Wetzel Miracle and wife Shelia, Zane Miracle, Becky Purcell and husband Roger, sons Mark Buis and David Buis, grandchildren Jessica Buis, Brant Buis, Kristin Johnson and Lindsay Buis, great-grandchildren Abbey Huddleston and Alec Huddleston, great-great grandchild Jace Lee, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to name, but all who will miss him so dearly.

The family of Don Miracle will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2025 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Shroll officiating.

A private interment will take place at the Miracle Family Cemetery in Williams Branch where Don and his beloved wife Peggy will be laid to rest together.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Hurst, Marvin (Kathy) Buis, Karen Sifton and Bill Sifton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Covenant Methodist Church Choir, 602 Dorchester Ave, Middlesboro, Kentucky, 40965.
