EARNEST RAY BARNES

Earnest Ray Barnes “Red”, 80 of Pathfork, Kentucky went to be with his Savior on December 28, 2020 at Corbin, Kentucky following a long illness.  He was born to Earnest and Rosalie Barnes on May 19th of 1940 in the Blue Diamond Camp.  He was a faithful member of Tugglesville Baptist Church.  He loved to sing and serve the Lord.

He worked for Fisher Body in Cincinnati, OH, then owning and operating his own coal truck before starting work at Blackstar where he drove a truck and operated a high lift.  Earnest was also a proud of his service in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Father and Mother-in-law Thomas and Clara Hubbard, Son Ernie Barnes, Brothers Jim and Keith Barnes, Sister Mary Helen Ealy and Great-Granddaughter Ashlyn Brooke David.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 56 years Vivian “Dolly” Barnes, Daughters Kim and Jesse Saylor, Shelia Barnes,  Susan and Chester Griffin and Deanna and Jon Farmer, Grandchildren Brian and Destiny Saylor, Brittany and Chris David, Tasha and Freddy Howard, Virgil, Craig, Timothy, and Courtney Griffin, Connor Griffin, Shelbee, Haelyn, Abby and Emma Farmer, Azzariah Hensley, Great-Grandchildren Landon and Easton David, Paige and Blake Saylor, Cameron, Chelsea, Caiden, Craig, Chad Graham, Ron and Aleena Goshen, Shilyn Saylor, Carter Arvin, Brother Paul and Theresa Barnes, Sisters Glenna Brooks and Barbara Tirey, Brother-in-law Monroe Ealy, Special Nephew Jason Howard and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Tugglesville Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Tugglesville Baptist Church with Rev. David Hoskins and Rev. Chester “Bud” Sizemore officiating.  Music will be provided by Angie Allen, Amanda Tindell and Angel Hoskins.

Interment will follow in the Saylor Cemetery at Pathfork, Kentucky.  Pallbearers will be Jason Howard, Timothy Griffin, Aaron Barnes, Connor Griffin, Brian Saylor, Charles Tirey, Robert Tirey and Michael Tirey.
