ELLEN NUTTER

Ellen (Gran-Gran) Nutter, age 80, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

She was born on April 1, 1941 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Homer and Demilla (Lucille) King.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Chester Nutter, and sister Phyllis Jean Brown.

In her early years, Ellen worked as a seamstress at Excello Industries, as well as Cato Fashions and as a substitute teacher for Claiborne County School Systems. Later on she took on a position at the Middlesboro Senior Citizens Center where she enjoyed working. Ellen loved spending time with her family and friends simply fellowshipping and having good conversation. Above all though, she was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord. She was a member at Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory, loving children Sherwood Nutter and wife Angela, Timothy Nutter and wife Kristi, John Nutter II, Gregory Nutter, Gequetta King, Amanda Clark and husband Mark, Rebecca Nutter and Christy Nutter, brother Homer King Jr. and wife Betty, sister Mary Simmons and husband Rev. T.A. Simmons, grandchildren Joshua Nutter, Rico Nutter, Tyler Nutter, Torey (TJ) Nutter, Isaiah King, Malachi Nutter, Byron Nutter, Gavan Nutter, Jayla Richardson, Giuliana Nutter, Grayson Nutter, and Gianna Nutter, great-grandchildren Sophia Nutter, special friend Mary Kyle Robinson, in addition to a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family of Ellen Nutter will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark A Clark presiding.

A Private Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Reggie Brown, Torey (TJ) Nutter, Malachi Nutter, Randall King, and Mark Nutter.
