EVERETT REECE SUTTLE

Everett Reece Suttle born on October 12th, 1942 went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2026. He was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky, and was a longtime resident of Fork Ridge, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reece (Buck) and Emma Suttle; his brother, Ralph (Deloris) Suttle; his niece, Judy Suttle; and his nephew, Eddie Suttle ("his mini me").

He was blessed with two daughters, Melissa and Amy, whom he loved dearly. Later in life, he met the love of his life, Michael, affectionately known as his "Woman or Babe." Their love was immediate and lasting. Along with Michael came an instant family, he loved them as his own from the beginning. She often said no one had ever loved her the way he did.

Everett attended Victory Worship Center where he was a founding charter member. He helped build and take care of the church by doing the sound and radio ministry, grounds work and drove the church bus for many years.

Some of his favorite things to do were tinkering in his garage and piddle-farting around with his grandboys or as he called them, his adopted sons, Brandon(spud) and Aaron(bubby). He taught them to seek knowledge and to love reading, a gift he inherited from his mother.

Everett was a mischievous little boy who grew into a mischievous old man. He loved pulling pranks (just ask the telemarketers), telling stories, and making people laugh. He never met a stranger, and if he liked you at all, he was sure to give you a nickname—whether you wanted one or not. His quick wit and gift for conversation made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Everett worked for Mountain Drive Coal Company until the mine shut down. Known as "Meatball," he was famous for keeping the men on the hill laughing with his endless pranks and practical jokes. He often shared stories from those days with a devious grin. When the coal mine closed, he returned to school, and became a certified heating and air specialist, and started his own business with his grandson Brandon Roark, "Papaw and Spud's Heat and Air."

Although Everett will be remembered for his playful spirit, his pranks, and the deep devotion he showed to his family and friends, none of those compared to his love for the Lord—or "PAPA," as he lovingly called Him while pointing up.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Michael Suttle, whom he faithfully loved and cared for every day. He is also survived by his daughters/stepchildren: Melissa (Bobby) Lambert, Amy Knight, Patsy Barnett, Judy Roark, and Robert Roark.

He leaves behind a treasured legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Emily and Evan Lambert; Adam Barnett (Caroline); Mathew Barnett (Grant); Brandon and Shana Roark (Brandson, Bradon); Kimberly and Adam Painter (Lacey, Carley, Haley); Dylan Roark (Oliver and Harper); Cory Roark (Hunston); Bailey and Haven Roark (Laken); Aaron (Brittney) Roark; and Tanner Roark. He is also survived by his nephews, Tyler Suttle and Matthew Suttle, who carry on the Suttle name, and special friends, Pastor Gary and Delana Miracle.

His laughter, stories, nicknames, and unwavering love for his family and his Lord will be missed beyond measure but remembered forever.

Everett’s celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 20th at Victory Worship Center (1249 Highway 63 Cumberland Gap, TN) from 5-7pm (receiving of friends) and service at 7pm with Rev. Gary Miracle, Rev. Shawn Fultz, and Rev. Rick Huffman officiating.  Music will be provided by Victory Church.
