GARRETT "SATCH" HALCOMB

Garrett “Satch” Halcomb, age 92, a resident of Middlesboro, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2025 while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 8, 1933 in Leatherwood, Kentucky to the late Harrison and Addie McDaniel Halcomb.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Sadie Halcomb, son Doyle Halcomb, son-in-law Willie Good, and 17 brothers and sisters.

Satch was a proud Coal Miner, having spent his life dedicated to the profession. He enjoyed not only mining itself, but the camaraderie with his fellow miners. Later on, Satch developed a green thumb, enjoying tending to and growing his garden. He loved to grow tomatoes and other vegetables, but he loved sharing them with others the most.

Left to cherish his memory, son Dennie “Paddle” Halcomb, daughter Debbie Good, grandchildren Brian (Natasha) Good, Brad (Renae) Good, James (Amber) Halcomb, Lauren (Corey) Wells, Dalton Bruce and Jesse Bruce, great-grandchildren Sadie Good, Jace “Jake” Good, Britt Good, Kacey Lambert and Atlas Wells, daughter-in-law Carolyn Bruce, special niece Karen Denise Stafford, very special friend who helped care take Teresa Cupp, as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him so dearly.

The family of Garrett “Satch” Halcomb will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Braden, Rev. Harold Sutton and Mr. Brian Good officiating.

Entombment to immediately follow at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Middlesboro, Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be Brad Good, Brian Good, James Halcomb, Dalton Bruce, Brad Southern, Jay Loveday and Rodney Webb.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Charles “Chuck” Bramble.
