General Robbins, age 81, of Middlesboro, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
General was born May 1, 1940. He was the son of the late James and Rosie Robbins of Middlesboro, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Gina, Ethan and Marty Keith, brothers Martin, Elmer and Cecil, sisters Edith, Lena, Azalee, Louise, Geneva, and Mary Lou, and brother-in-law Wendell Hurst and his wife Lois Hurst.
He is survived by the following members of his family, loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Brenda Hurst Robbins, son Devin Robbins, daughter and son-in-law Kim and Earl Dean Roberts all of Middlesboro, KY., granddaughter Lindsey Knuckles of Knoxville, TN., grandson Josh Knuckles (Becky) of Middlesboro, KY., great-grandchildren Kayleigh, Nathaniel, and newest grandbaby Kainen all of Middlesboro, KY., brother Kenny Robbins of London, KY., as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
General was a 1960 graduate of Bell County High School. He was one of the best basketball players to play for Bell County. He went on to play his freshman year of college at the University of Tennessee, later returning home to graduate with a degree in Education from Lincoln Memorial University. He taught in the Bell County School System until his retirement.
General loved his family, the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
The family of General Robbins will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Graveside Services to immediately follow at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Don Messer officiating.
Pallbearers will be friends and family members.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Coleman Lefevers, Al Brock, Wayne Wilson, and Larry Tom Davis.
