GEORGIA MARIE MARTIN

Georgia Marie Martin was born March 15, 1951 and entered into her heavenly reward September 13, 2025 surrounded by her family.

She was saved at an early age and was a charter member of Sunnyside Missionary Baptist Church and remained faithful until her death.  She loved attending church, tending to her farm and garden until her health declined.  She was known for her delicious cooking and was often found in the kitchen making her grandkids’ favorite meals.  You never enter her home without being fed.  Although she is gone from our presence, we will carry her with us in our hearts until we are reunited in heaven.

She was born in Hancock County, Tennessee, the daughter of William and Rose Gibson Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Martin, son Jason Martin, brothers Ronnie Jones and David Jones, sisters Verneda Martin and Judy Jones, and the father of her daughter, Jerry Marion.

Left to mourn her passing, her special companion and friend Earl Wright, daughter Kim (Dennis) Cook, brother Jerry “Doc” Jones, sister Bobbie Jean Collins and Debbie Holt, grandchildren Micah (Ashley) Cook, Nikkie (Matthew) Sandefur, Mikey ( Kevina) Loper, Jason Martin, Meredith Martin, great-grandchildren Malachi (Betty Jo) Sandefur, Ean Sandefur, Kamden Sandefur, Shelby Sandefur, Steele Loper, Ridge Loper, Colter Loper, O’Rion Conkin, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family of Georgia Martin will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nick Keck and Bro. Ean Sandefur officiating.  Music will be provided by Tina Franklin and Tracy Keck.

Graveside services will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery in Rebel Holler in Hancock County, Tennessee.

Pall bearers will be Ron Hatfield, Micah Cook, Malachi Sandefur, Jason Martin, Jerry “Doc” Jones, Matthew Sandefur, and Tommy Jones.

Honorary pall bearers are Earl Wright, Brian Wright, Kamden Sandefur, Mikey Loper, Steele Loper, Ridge Loper, Colter Loper, and Dennis Cook.
