HASTON INGRAM

Haston Steven Ingram, age 79, of Middlesboro, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday April 24, 2026 while surrounded by his wife, Linda, son, Bryan and daughter-in-law, Cindy.

Haston was born on April 20, 1947 in Hutch, KY, the son of the late Ulys and Sudie Ingram.

Haston was a wonderful husband and father. He was a kind, loving and generous man. He was devoted to and loved his family. He loved life, and loved people. He will be remembered for his laughter and making those around him laugh; ever the jokester and prankster. Strangers quickly became friends.

Haston was a Christian and loved the Lord and God’s Word. He was a faithful member of East Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. His greatest delight was teaching Sunday School for more than 25 years. He had also served in the TV ministry, and as a bus driver. His countenance was indeed a reflection of his love for the Lord in every worship service he attended. He loved the preaching of God’s Word.

Haston was a graduate of Bell County High School, and a veteran of the United States Army. After serving his country he began working in the coal industry as a Blasting Supervisor. He began his career with Mountain Drive Coal Company. From there he transferred to Cyprus Kanawha Coal, in West Virginia and later to TECO Coal Company, in Whitesburg, Kentucky before retiring in September 2014. Known by his co-workers as Red Horse, he always said God blessed him to be able to work with some of the finest men in the world, with whom he had lasting friendships.

Haston enjoyed fishing and hunting hickory chickens. He was an avid gardener. He prayed over his garden and thanked God for every sprout, bloom and yield. In turn, he shared the bounty of what God blessed with those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulys and Sudie Wilder Ingram, infant brother Wallace Ingram, brothers William Ingram and Leon Ingram and sisters Deane Tackett, Ann Roark, Beulah Brewer, nephews Doug Miracle and Steve Brewer, and niece Teresa Eldridge.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 56 ½ years, Linda, and son, Bryan and wife Cindy Ingram, sisters Ethel Miracle and Jalaine Roark, brothers Houston (Brenda) Ingram, Ben Ingram, and Ira (Susan) Ingram; as well as a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt love and appreciation for caregiver, Jennifer Garren, and Bluegrass Navigators Hospice.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Green Hills Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken Cole and Rev. Tyler Debusk officiating. Music will be provided by Todd Spangler, Bruce Messer, Haley Debusk and Kathy Henard.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Houston Ingram, Ben Ingram, Ira Ingram, Mark Engle, Dennis Stapleton and Curt Sams.

Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons and Trustees of East Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church.
