HELEN EUNICE HARRIS

Helen Eunice Harris, age 94, of Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, in the Franklin Woods Hospital, Johnson City, Tennessee.  She was born July 19, 1930, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, the daughter of William Jesse and Carrie Massengill.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Edward Harris; one daughter, Judith Nelle Harris; six sisters, Edna Branham, Mildred Miller, Ruby Van Beber, Thelma Williams, Wilma Mays, and Carolyn Sue Pursifull; five brothers; Calloway Arthur Massengill, Thomas Howard Massengill, Harold Massengill, John  Roger Massengill, and Jesse Massengill.

She is survived by one daughter, Helen Joyce Hester; son-in-law, Robert E. Hester III; three grandchildren, Hillary Dawn Buckner, Robert Blaine Hester, and Harrison Edmund Hester; five great-grandchildren, Owen Calloway Hester, Kaia Noelle Griffin, Esme Isabelle Griffin, Nash Louis Griffin, and Asher Edmund Hester.

Helen was gifted with a beautiful voice.  For many years she sang in the First Baptist Church Choir.  Holding fast to her beliefs and discerning insight gained by studying the Bible, she lived her life and found strength in overwhelming times of trial through faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ.  A rather private person, she exemplified grace and beauty to those she met, even while working at Hilltop Taxidermy and Bait Shop with her outdoorsman husband.  She personified strength and beauty to her friends and family.

The family of Helen Harris will receive friends at Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel Friday, December 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Garry Bingham officiating.

Burial will follow at the Middlesboro Cemetery.
