Helga Maria Gruber Hoskins, age 79, of Harrogate, Tennessee passed away February 27, 2026 while surrounded by her family.
She was born in Linz, Austria on July 27, 1946 to Guido and Teresa Kurner Gruber.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Peter Gruber.
Helga had worked tirelessly for many years at Middlesboro A.R.H. Hospital as a registered nurse. She gave of herself in the professional and compassionate care that she gave to others. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family. Helga was known for her many travels and vast knowledge of many cities all over the globe. She was a witty, personable lady who truly impacted many lives.
She leaves behind her son, Jessy Hoskins (Vicky), brothers, Guido Gruber, Bernie Gruber, and Christopher Gruber, sister, Traudl Gruber, grandchildren Amber Keck (Josh), and Jacob Hoskins (Shauna Dotson), great-grandchildren, Breanna Griffin (Mykel), Kylie Barnes, and Baylee Keck, great great grandchild Deacon Griffin, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and wonderful friends who will miss her dearly.
The family would like to extend grateful thanks to all of her caregivers, the staff of Suncrest Hospice, and Dr. C.A. Moore for the care and love that was shown to our mother during her illness.
The family of Helga Hoskins will receive friends Friday, March 6, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.
A celebration of a life for this special lady will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Green Hills Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in Helga’s honor to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the charity or church of your choice.
