JACKIE AYERS

Jackie Yvonne Ayers, age 85, of Middlesboro, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 12, 2021 while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 18th, 1936 to the late Mary Elizabeth and Clarence Alonzo Ayles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Ayers, sister Helen, and brother Hoyt.

Jackie loved the Lord.  She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.  She loved to sing in the choir and worked faithfully for her church.  One of her favorite activities was to go golfing with Billy Ray at Monte Vista Golf Course.  Both also helped maintain the clubhouse.  It was there that Jackie enjoyed greeting all the guests and helping them with whatever they needed.  She loved cooking for her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She will be missed dearly by all who were blessed to have known her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jerry Ayers, Gilda (Tommy) Smith, Teresa (Bill) Sifton, her grandchildren: Shannon (Randall) Massengill, Tonya (Shane) Jones, Josh Ayers, Chris Bussell, Cara Ayers, Rebecca (Josh) Yeary and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will follow in the Green Hills Chapel at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend John Gibbons and Reverend Mark Sutton presiding.  Music will be provided by Randall Massengill and the Lighthouse Singers.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16, in the Green Hills Mausoleum. 

Pallbearers will be Randall Massengill, Shane Jones, Josh Ayers, Chris Bussell, Josh Yeary, Will Jones and Peyton Ayers.

Honroary Pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Bill Sifton and Jerry Ayers.
