James Monroe “Sam” Slusher, age 56, of Pineville, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2025.
He was born on September 7, 1968 in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Monroe Slusher and Sharon Simpson Humfleet whom survives.
In addition to his father “Sam” was preceded in death by his Grandparents Cora Lee and William “Bill” Harmon Simpson, Lorine Miller and Cody Slusher and Step-Father Carlos Edward Humfleet Jr.
He was saved at an early age and was a member of Ferndale Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and being outside watching the deer and birds, drinking his coffee and smoking cigarettes.
Left to mourn his passing, his mother Sharon Simpson Humfleet of Pineville, Kentucky, son James Samuel Slusher of Campbellsville, Kentucky, siblings Carlos Edward Humfleet III of Pineville, Kentucky, Sherry Lynn (Thomas) Mason of Pineville, Kentucky, Roe Slusher, Steven Slusher, Michael Slusher and Helena Slusher, aunts and uncles James Ray Simpson of Barbourville, Kentucky, Morrison (Charlotte) Simpson of Pineville, Kentucky, William Arvin Simpson of Barbourville, Kentucky, Johnny (Jodi) Simpson of Barbourville, Kentucky, Glenda Sue (Bill) Gibson of London, Kentucky and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Carlos Edward Humfleet III and Mr. Johnny Simpson. Music will be provided by Mr. Brandon Givens.
Interment will follow in the Humfleet Family Cemetery.
