JANICE FAYE COX

Janice Faye Cox (Dameron), age 73, of Middlesboro Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family and friends. 

Janice was born December 27th, 1951, in Logan West Virginia, the daughter of the late Emery Smith and Betty (Darrell) Jones (Bragg). 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Son Cristopher Dameron. 

Janice married Donald Ray Cox on March 14, 1986, in Prestonsburg Kentucky with Rev. Darrell Jones officiating, where they began a long and happy life together for 39 wonderful years. During that time, they had one son together and five grandchildren whom they loved and adored. In her professional life, Janice worked as a Bookkeeper at the Floyd County Board of Education for many years; a place she enjoyed working very much and even later retired from. She was excellent at keeping numbers and running a successful bookkeeping career.

Janice loved the Lord and was a member of the River of Life Church of God where she was always faithful in attendance and in tithes. In her early years she served as Church Secretary, using her bookkeeping skills to serve the Lord and her church.

 A wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and servant of the Lord, Janice’s love and devotion for her church and family will live on in the hearts of those who loved her so dear.  

Remaining to cherish Janice's memory are Her Loving Husband Donald R Cox, Son Josh Cox, Daughter-in-law Heather Cox, Stepchildren Rodney Cox, Kim Justice, Fred Cox and Don Cox; grandchildren, Colton Cox, Cameron Cox, Cayden Cox, Peyton Cox, Paisley Cox, brother Dana Jones, as well as a host of so many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family of Janice Cox will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Green Hills Funeral Home 31 Hurst Road Middlesboro, KY 40965.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chester Keathley and Rev. Roger Cox officiating.

Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, 169 Forest Lawn Cemetery Road, Pecks Mill West Virginia, 25547.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Janice's memory may be directed to River Of Life Church of God. Envelopes are available and may be sent to Green Hills Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
