Jimmy Luther Perry, 81, of Norwood, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at his fiancés home in Hazard, Kentucky. Jimmy was born in McCreary County, Kentucky, on September 20, 1944, to the late James Everett Perry and Josie Maines Tipton.
Jimmy held a career many years at General Motors, and later in life painted homes and worked as a security guard. Jimmy was a believer in the Pentecostal Faith. Jimmy was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcats fan, enjoying cheering on both football and basketball, as well as the Cincinnati Reds.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn M. Beck Perry, brothers, Claude Perry, SP4 U.S. Army, K.I.A. Vietnam, Silver Star, and James Everett Perry, Jr. and sisters, Elisa Strunk and Mildred Lawson.
Jimmy is survived by his fiancé, Sonja Thompson, his children and their spouses, Claude Edward (Jennifer) Perry, Michael James (Peggy) Perry, David Adam (Melissa) Perry, and Carla (Brenda) Perry-Bettac, brother, Dewell Perry, sisters, Patricia Barnett, Dora Helton, and Rosa Lee Hensley, special grandchildren, Brian and Rachael Perry, as well as a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
The family of Jimmy Perry will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Graveside Services to immediately follow at Saylor Cemetery in Pathfork, Kentucky, with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
