JOHN "CATFISH" REESE

John “Catfish” Edison Reese, passed May 3, 2024, he was born May 13, 1952 in Livingston, Kentucky to Delores Reese.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wonderful wife of 51 years, Jean Reese, and daughter Jackie Lynn Reese. Johnny loved Jean so much that he didn’t want to be here without her, so he joined her a couple of days after she passed. They are now joined in Heaven together.

Johnny loved to fish and spent many hours sitting on the bank casting. He loved watching television, Sanford and Son and especially westerns like Gunsmoke and the Rifleman. He loved watching UK Basketball with his grandsons, as well as the Washington Redskins football. Johnny loved to play loud music both in the house and in his truck. He was a huge collector of Indian memorabilia and loved silver and turquois. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could play great practical jokes with the best of them. He loved spending time with his best friend John-John. They spent many hours together. He was in the U.S. Army for 4 years and worked at the Middlesboro Tannery until he was injured.

Johnny is survived by his sons Steven Reese and wife Jamie, Shawn Reese and wife Spring, and Joshua Reese, brother Paul Baker and wife Diana, sister JoAnn and husband Terry, grandchildren Jacob Greene, Tyler Reese, Ramie Reese, Devin Reese, Logan Reese, Landon Reese, Kelcy Reese, Ethan Reese, and Paisley Reese, Best friend John-John and his daughter Brooke; Special sister-in-law JoAnn Gibson, dog Festus; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family of Johnny Reese will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted by Fr. Prashanth Lobo at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside Services to immediately follow at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens, with full military honors being provided by the Jellico Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
