Joseph Allen (BoBo) Woody, age 73 of Middlesboro Kentucky, went home to Glory on February 24th, 2026, at Middlesboro ARH hospital. He was born in Middlesboro Kentucky to the late Frank & Hazel (Allen) Woody.
He joined the Army National Guard at a young age and served proudly. He joined the rescue efforts during local catastrophic floods of 1977.
Bobo was a dedicated child of God and faithful member at Northside Baptist Church in Middlesboro Kentucky where he was the choir leader for several years.
His love of sports saw him spend many years coaching young athletes in basketball and baseball. He was the assistant coach for the MHS Lady Jackets basketball team for two years. He was president of the Middlesboro tee ball league for 4 years. Coach Bo loved his players and dedicated countless hours to help them grow in the sport that they loved. Bo also loved his duties as an MHS band parent for both of his daughter’s time in the Middlesboro High School Band.
He was known as a loving husband, Father, and (Papa) to his grandchildren. If you knew Bo, you loved him.
Aside from his parents his was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, his son-in-law and his granddaughter.
He is survived by his loving wife Colleen (Wallace) Woody of 53 years, daughter Rochelle (Woody) Daniels, Son Joe Woody & wife Christal Woody, Son Chris Woody and wife Ashley Woody, daughter Tracey (Woody) Ayers and husband Cody Ayers. Eleven grandchildren Tori, Logan, Baylee, Lindsey, Blaine, Skyler, December, Keylee, Olivia, Chance and Eli. Two great grandchildren Bennett and Ivy-Jane. Also survived by brother Mickey Woody, sisters Twinkle Treece and Kathy Mayes. Brother-in-law Jerry (Cindy) Wallace, Sister-in-law Marilyn (Steve) Fox. He is also survived by a host of nephews and nieces and friends.
Services for Mr. Woody will be held at Green Hills Funeral Home. The family will accept friends from 4:30 to 7:00 P.M. on Saturday February 28th, 2026. The funeral service for Mr. Woody will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Glenn Hoskins presiding. Music will be provided by Family and the Northside Lighthouse Singers.
Burial services will be Sunday March 1st, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Green Hills Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. Procession will be assembled by 2:30 P.M. at Green Hills Funeral Home for those who wish to join.
Pallbearers will be Joe Woody, Chris Woody, Cody Ayers, Skyler Ayers, Blaine Woody, Logan Woody, Chance Woody, Eli Woody, and Bennett Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers are Steve Fox, Mickey Woody, Mike Woody, Greg Woody and Matthew Fox.
