Joshua Dwight Carnes, age 39, of Jonesville, Virginia, passed away on February 1, 2025.
He was born in Pineville, Kentucky on March 8, 1985, to Dwight Carnes and Diana Hurst.
Josh was saved at an early age and was of the Baptist faith. He was Baptized at Chadwell Station Baptist Church in Ewing, Virginia. A creative soul, Josh was gifted with his hands, a talent which he put toward woodworking – creating unique pieces. He also had a green thumb and could make anything grow from nothing. Josh also enjoyed the outdoors; he loved fishing and especially deer and turkey hunting.
A heart full of love, Josh simply loved being with his family and his children. Those who he held close were special to him, especially his kids. A carefree spirit, a talented and creative young man, as well as a loving husband, father, brother and son has left us all too soon, but we are confident that he is at peace and rest. The impact he left on those around him in this life will forever be felt, and his sweet spirit remembered by all who loved him most.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence and Goldie Carnes, Papaw Edward Brooks, and Uncle Joe Hipshire.
Left to cherish his memory, father Dwight Carnes and wife Renae, mother Diana Hurst and husband Mike, wife Rachel Carnes, son Raylan Cash Carnes, daughter Joshlyn Grace Carnes, step-daughter Kinsley Dean, brother Justin Clarence Carnes and wife Courtney, nephews Jasper Carnes and Jameson Carnes, brother-in-law Jessie Owens, special friend Jason “Mater” Singleton, as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him so much.
The family of Joshua Carnes will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025 with Mr. Garry Bingham and Mr. Jason Singleton presiding.
Graveside Services will immediately follow at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be Justin Carnes, Jessie Owens, Jason Singleton, Jeremy Mize, Justin Russell, and Jason Singleton Jr.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Tim Owens.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to his parents for an education fund being set up for his beloved children.
