Joshua Dylan Scott, age, 22, born April 25, 2001, flew into Heaven on April 6, 2024 doing what he loved to do: working. He accepted Jesus Christ into his life at 14 years old at Wolfenbarger Baptist Church. He was a member of Mt. Zion Church. Josh accomplished so much in his time here on Earth. Starting a path at Hancock County High School where he graduated in 2019, Josh was a member of Future Farmers of America (FFA), which he held multiple degrees, such as Greenhand, Chapter, and State degrees, as well as competed in numerous contests. After graduating school, his first job was working at Home Goods in Tazewell, TN, where he worked there for a few years alongside Steven Hamblin.
He was a proud member of Big Spring Union 581 Masonic Lodge and the Shawanee Order of the Eastern Star. He then got the opportunity to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a Funeral Director and an Embalmer at Green Hills Funeral Home, where Nelson and Hannah Bingham and other staff members took Josh under their wings to help him fulfill his dreams. Josh also enjoyed greeting families and friends and being of service to those in their time of need at the Green Hills Funeral Home and Green Hills Memorial Gardens. He was also enrolled in Mortuary school to further his career path.
Anyone that knew Josh knows he would always put a smile on your face. He was a very outstanding person, he loved everyone, and Josh would help anyone in need. No matter what he faced, Josh loved to make people laugh and enjoy life. He never met a stranger, strangers always became friends. While he may not be here with us, he is with his family and friends in Heaven.
Josh is preceded in death by his great-great grandparents Herb and Ruby Taylor and his great uncle Scott Dean. Josh has a very special friend waiting for him in Heaven: David Skidmore.
He is survived by his grandmother Reva Taylor (the person who raised him), his grandmother Jenny Taylor, his grandmother Beth Denim, his pet Oscar (the perfect kitty), his uncle Eric Taylor, his biological mother Amanda Wilson, his brothers and sisters Hayden Canavan, Elsa Wilson, Zooey Wilson, Archer Wilson, Cullen Wilson, his great aunt Carol Ramsey, his great aunt Erica Dean, and cousins: Brittany, Billy, Cameron, Shooter, Piper, Hunter, Ava and Colton, Special Friend Doc Thompson, Extended family members, and special friends whose hearts he has touched over the years.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Nelson and Hannah Bingham, and Green Hills Funeral Home and staff for not only hosting Josh Scott, but for also helping him achieve his dreams.
The family of Josh Scott will receive friends Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Masonic Services will be conducted on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow with Rev. Gary Fletcher officiating.
Josh will also receive special honors and recognition for his service and dedication to the funeral profession. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant"
