Joyce Ann Robertson, age 80, of Speedwell, Tennessee, passed away at the Claiborne Medical Center in Tazewell, Tennessee on July 28, 2025.
She was born on June 23, 1945, in the Clouds Community of New Tazewell, Tennessee and was the daughter of Charlie and Easter Evans Drummonds.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Ray Robertson and her brother Aubry Drummonds.
Joyce enjoyed tending to her flowers, watching them grow, and taking advantage of the beauty and fragrance that they brought to her home. She was a wonderful cook and felt so blessed when her family sat down at her table to dine on what she had so lovingly prepared for them. Joyce possessed the gift of service and was forever putting other people’s needs and desires ahead of her own. She liked to reflect on life and would pour her thoughts and creativity into writing poetry. She was a fan of the tv game shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Joyce read her bible daily and her favorite passage were found in The Book of Psalms.
She leaves behind her son James Michael Robertson (Janice), daughters Connie Collins (James), and Tina Cunningham, brother Larry Drummonds, sisters Janice Berkley, Dora McClimans, Brenda Smith, Glenda Cutcher, and Vickie Edwards, grandchildren Brittany Robertson, Tiffany Headricks, Ann Cunningham, Caleb Ayers, Chloe Williams, and Junior Collins, great-grandchildren Angel Robertson Hinkle, Nicky Brock, and Carson Bailey, special niece “Baby Dumplin” Crystal Ayers, special Friend Belinda Wilson Bratcher, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
The family of Joyce Robertson will receive friends at the Speedwell Church of God in Speedwell, Tennessee on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Ellison and Rev. Elijah Ellison officiating.
Graveside services and burial will be private.
