JOYCE HELEN COSBY

Joyce Helen Cosby, age 78, of Harrogate, Tennessee passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family September 4, 2024 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was born at her childhood home in Harrogate, Tennessee November 2, 1945 to the late Lunis and Ruth Shoffner Hill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Rocky Webb.

Joyce was raised in church and saved at an early age.  She was a faithful member of Forge Ridge Baptist Church where she held many titles.  She was involved in Sunday School, Bible School, Christmas plays, and many other church activities.   She was an avid sports fan, especially the UT Volunteers.  She always made a point to watch her Vols play anytime they had a televised game; her blood definitely ran orange!  Joyce was a true southerner through and through as seen by her love of sweet tea, summertime, and hummingbirds.  She had a warm, generous heart that was full of the joy of the Lord and was entirely devoted to her precious family and wonderful friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Melba Webb, of Harrogate, Tennessee, granddaughters Nicole Little (Eric), Hannah Ford (Lucas) of Tazewell, Tennessee, great grandsons Ethan Little of Rome, Georgia, LCPL Sydney Little USMC of San Diego, California, brother Gene Hill (Evelyn) of Arthur, Tennessee, sister Janice Brantley (Junior) of Harrogate, Tennessee, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends at the Forge Ridge Cemetery in Harrogate, Tennessee on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. noon.

Graveside services will follow at 12:00p.m. noon at the Forge Ridge Cemetery Saturday, September 7, 2024 with Rev. Josh Hurst officiating.
