Leona Allene Gaylor, age 64, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on May 2, 2021 at Middlesboro A.R.H.
She was born in Middlesboro, KY on March 25, 1957 to the late Rev. Archie and Gladys Shelton Gaylor. Leona believed in the Holiness Pentecostal Faith. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone at any time. She loved music and had always wanted to travel. She had a desire to feed people and never wanted anyone to go hungry. She loved greatly and in turn will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her Parents Rev. Archie and Gladys Gaylor, Sisters Connie Gent, Judy Duffield and Donna Gaylor, Uncle Leonard Shelton, Niece Debra Kay Presnell and Brother-in-laws Bronell Sturgill, Jerry Saylor, A.J. Brooks and Claude Higgenbotham.
She is survived by her Sisters Brenda and her husband Rev. Cecil Johnson, Geneva Higgenbotham, Linda Brooks, Sandra and husband Jimmy Edwards, Gail Saylor, Geraldine Brock, Debra Slusher and Kathy Sturgill, Brother Adam Gaylor, Special Nieces and Nephews Anastiasa “Hope” Higgenbotham and Jeremiah Higgenbotham, Special Friend Gloria Johnson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Padgett and Rev. Lance Brooks.
Interment will immediately follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Timothy Wright, Tyler Wright, Welsey Corum, Archie Sturgill, Brandon Sturgill, Larry Presnell and Kenneth Bailey. All Covid-19 regulations, including masks and social distancing, will be observed.
