LINDA YOAKUM

Linda Edmonds Yoakum, age 76, a resident of Middlesboro, Kentucky, passed away on July 24, 2026.

She was born October 2, 1949 in Evarts Kentucky, the daughter of the late Daniel Steve and Trula Fleenor Edmonds.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brothers Jack Edmonds and Ted Edmonds, and lifelong friend Joan Stagnolia Dienes.

Linda graduated from Cumberland High School in 1968. As a young adult she worked for South Central Bell in Lexington, KY as a switchboard operator connecting calls. Linda later retired from Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital, where she worked the majority of her career as a clerk in the business office and a short time as an admissions clerk.

She grew close with those coming in and out of the hospital and loved being able to help them understand their insurance when it became overwhelming or too complicated. Linda had so much compassion for people who had no one. She often took home-cooked meals to them, especially during the holidays.

She loved Kentucky Basketball, music of many different genres, a day at the beach, and thought there was nothing better than a Georgia Mud Fudge Blizzard. Known for two things: her signature red or coral nails and her sweet iced tea- she could make a pitcher to impress and loved to fix you a glass.

Known to Lindsay and Palmer as “Mom,” it was certainly her favorite role. She was a constant source of love and support, always just a phone call away, and backed her children fiercely, leaving them with a lifetime of memories.

She is survived by her daughter Lindsay Danielle Hall and husband Todd of Corbin, Ky; her son William Palmer Yoakum and wife Hannah (Huffman) of Corbin, Ky; her former husband and lifelong friend, William Mack Yoakum of Middlesboro, Ky; as well as the entire extended Yoakum family.

The family of Linda Yoakum will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Garry Bingham presiding.

Graveside Services to immediately follow at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be Robby Yoakum, Jack Yoakum, Mark McClain, Steve Cambron, Pat Anstett and Todd Hall.
