Loretta Mae Ledford Johnson, age 83 of Cumberland Gap,Tennessee received her Heavenly reward Thursday, May 28th 2026 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center after a long illness.
Mae was the daughter of the late James and Ruth Ledford and was preceded in death by her brothers Joe,Jack and Darrell Ledford and sister Joyce McVey.
She is survived by her husband Lee Johnson of Cumberland Gap, her daughter Elizabeth Ann Johnson Shackleford and husband Shane and her son David Lee Johnson and Ginger of Cumberland Gap.
Gran is also survived by her grandchildren Audrey Adessa Cox of Bowling Green, KY, David Paul Andrew Johnson and Cameron Kade Johnson of Cumberland Gap. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Blakely and Brystol Cox of Bowling Green, KY.
Mae is also survived by her brothers Eddie Ledford (Libby) and Johnny Ledford of Kildav, KY, and Jerry Ledford (Tami) of Tazewell,TN and her sister Peggy Weaver of Rosspoint, KY. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
If you knew Mae, you instantly loved her. She loved the Lord, her family and really everyone she came in contact with. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend of the highest order. Most of all, she was a daughter of Christ and shared her faith with everyone. She wanted you to have what she had- faith, hope, and love.
It goes without saying how much Mae will be missed, but we have an everlasting hope we will see her again.
Mae’s favorite verse was Psalms 91:1- “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
The family of Loretta Johnson will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2026 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Timothy Loveday officiating.
Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Gazebo Chapel.
