MARGARET JERLENE LONG

Margaret Jerlene Hensley Long, age 77, of Ewing, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 4, 2022 while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Lee County, Virginia on August 23, 1944 to the late Samson and Lilly Pace Hensley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 9 siblings, as well as her father and mother-in-law, Alvie and Oma Long.

Margaret was a woman of great faith who loved to worship and serve the Lord through music. She was a faithful member of Liberty Chapel Church. All of her family, friends, and extended church family will miss her dearly.

Left to cherish her memory, loving husband of 62 years, Charles Long, sons Frankie Long and wife Ginger, Charles Douglas Long and wife Donna, daughter Tammy Helton and husband Earnest, grandchildren Amy McCurry and husband Jason, Joshua Helton and wife Savannah, Justin Helton and wife Jessica, Steven Long and wife Megan, and Alex Long, great-grandchildren Jacob McCurry and Rosalyn Long, brother Rodney Hensley and wife Delores, sister-in-law Ruby Ealy, as well as a host of several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her special caregiver Angie Thomas, and Paul Bailey and Presley Helton for their time and dedication to Margaret and her family.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Pace Cemetery in Rose Hill, Virginia with Rev. Paul Bailey presiding. Obituary will be read by Presley Helton, and special music provided by Ginger Long.

Pallbearers will be Steven Long, Alex Long, Joshua Helton, Justin Helton, Jason McCurry and Jacob McCurry.
