Mary Beeler Evans, age 88, of Middlesboro, KY passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at her home.
She was born on February 16, 1938, the first of 3 children of the late William Frankin Beeler and Ella Campbell Beeler Fuson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Evans; stepfather, Edward Fuson; 3 brothers, Lonnie Phillip Beeler, Edward “Bo” Fuson and Billy Gene Fuson; 2 sisters, Alice Fuson Brooks and Margaret Fuson Barnes Herzog; father-in-law, Rev. Charlie Evans and mother-in-law, Pauline Evans.
Mary was a charter member of Binghamtown Baptist Church, graduate of Southeast Community and Technical College and retired from the Bell County Health Department with over 30 years of service.
She is survived by 2 children; Kenneth Ray (Tammy) Evans and Randall Keith (Susan) Evans; 3 grandchildren; Tiffany Rae (Daniel) Whitley, Brittany Lynn (Julio) Hogue and Rebekah Alice (Wes) Leatherman; 4 great grandchildren, Elijah Hogue, Maci Hogue, Addison Whitley and Jacob Whitley; brothers, William Franklin (Sharon) Beeler, James David (Mary) Fuson and Rodney Kent Fuson; sisters-in-law, Charlene Gladney, Joyce Evans, Sue Mills and Pat Beeler; canine companion, Riley and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Over the past several years, Mary’s niece, Valerie (Jim) Sumpter and nephew, Dwayne (Judy) Barnes supported her in many ways whenever she needed assistance. Over the past 4 months, her in-home caregiver team led by Flo “Beanie” Blanton and Tammy Hensley provided excellent compassionate care. Beanie, through her friendship, became part of the family and made herself available to serve Mary any time, day or night.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday July 12, 2026, at Binghamtown Baptist Church with Deacon Garry Bingham, Rev. Dr. William Boyd Bingham, IV and Rev. Dr. William Boyd Bingham, III officiating. Music will be provided by the Binghamtown Church Singers and Mr. Dickie Siler.
The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Binghamtown Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 4:00pm and a graveside service will immediately follow in Middlesboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Fuson, Rodney Fuson, Brian Beeler, Scott Beeler, Dwayne Barnes, Jim Sumpter,William Mills and Marshall Bain. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Whitley, Julio Hogue, Wes Leatherman, the church’s Triple L Club and members of the choir.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Gateway Christian School.
