MATTHEW MILLS

Matthew Roy Logan Mills, age 23, passed away on December 5, 2021.

He was born on August 16, 1998 in Bell County, Kentucky to David and Marie Sturm Mills.

There are so many things to say about Matthew and the life that he lived in his short 23 years on this earth. He was fiercely loyal and a protector of those he loved. No matter the situation, Matthew was always ready and willing to help others. If you were in trouble, Matthew would be the first person you would call, no questions asked. A true country boy, he loved the outdoors, hunting, and riding ATV’s. He was an “all American” kind of guy; he loved a good chili dog and cheeseburger. He was one of the hardest working people - he absolutely loved to work and operate heavy equipment, and he was good at it. He had been on or around a piece of equipment since he was little. A Mama’s boy at heart, a loving Son, protective Brother, and loyal Friend. These are just a few of the many ways in which we will remember Matthew. The void left behind with his untimely passing leaves us these sweet memories that we will forever cherish.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Judy Diane Lewis, grandfather Curtis Mills, grandfather Edwin Roy Strum and aunts Joan Mills and Eva Taylor.

Left to morn his passing, parents David Curtis Mills and Marie Joy Mills, siblings David Ryan Mills (Ashley Cornish), Karissa Marie Hendrickson (special brother-in-law Adam), and Nathaniel E. Mills, nieces Ava Hendrickson and Laney Ray Mills, nephew David Riley Mills, grandmother Debra Sue Upton, aunts Clarinda Sturm and Catherine Ann Commons (Ray), uncle Jack Taylor and his daughter Christy Johnson and her kids Kiara, Kolton Kainen, cousins Cara Commons, Racheal Commons, Ronnie Commons, William Joseph Holder, and Ariana Maddox (Drew), special cousins Avetta Gregory, Judy Diane Freels, and Jamie Lewis, special uncle Larry Paul Lewis, as well as a host of many other relatives and special friends too numerous to name.

The family of Matthew Mills will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Boyd Bingham III presiding.

Interment Services will be private.
