MICHAEL NELSON

Michael Nelson, age 57 of Tazewell, Tennessee passed away peacefully May 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 15, 1964 in Cookeville, Illinois. Michael was an excellent painter, one of the finest in the area, an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and a Christian. He served his country proudly in the United States Army.

Michael is preceded in death by his Father Paul Evert Nelson.

He is survived by his loving wife Rebecca Nelson, Sons Derik and wife Beth Hoskins and Travis Nelson, Daughters Mindy Miller and Husband Rusty, Grandchildren Caydie Hoskins, Jonah Hoskins, Owen Nelson, Kylie Nelson, Oakley Nelson, Natalie Miller and Aubrey Miller, His Mother Laura Baucum, Sisters Alice Carpenter and Husband Dell, Paula Nelson, Vicki Nelson, Linda Shirer and Husband George and Tammy Saylor and Husband Randy, In-Laws Billy Ray and Sharon Hoskins and Patricia and Jim Wilson and a Host of Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives and Friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Green Hills Funeral Home. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. full Military Honors will be given by the Jellico Honor Guard with the folding of the flag done by his two sons Derik Hoskins and Travis Nelson. 

A Memorial Service will immediately follow with comments by Mr. Bill Roberts and Rev. Chuck Taylor officiating.  Music will be provided Jonah Hoskins, Billy Ray Hoskins and Clarence Ramsey.
