MYRL LEE RODGERS

Myrl Lee Rodgers, age 75, of Harrogate, Tennessee, passed away January 12, 2025, at the Claiborne Medical Center.

He was born in Claiborne County, Tennessee on September 30, 1949, to the late John and Rosy Combs Rodgers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Oleen Rodgers, his brother Frank Rodgers, and his sister Mildred Brown.

Myrl was a member of the Faith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.  He was saved as an eight-year-old boy at Evergreen Acres Baptist Church in Monroe, Michigan.  He was a faithful servant and a minister of the gospel for almost forty years.  He was a people person and loved everyone he encountered.  He loved his family and his church and his church family.  His greatest joy and reason for living was to serve His Lord and to tell others of the saving power of his Savior Jesus Christ.

Left to mourn his passing, his sons Edward Rodgers and wife Penny, and Westley Rodgers and wife Julie, his brother Kenley Rodgers and wife Sharon, his sisters Mable, Ginger, and Sharon, his precious grandchildren Ashley Rodgers, Carly Rodgers, Seth Rodgers, Flora Vanlandingham, and a host of other relatives and cherished friends who will miss him dearly.

The family of Myrl Lee Rodgers will receive friends on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 7:00p.m.  with Rev. Leo Surber, Rev. David Billingsley, Rev. Leon Surber, Rev. Leonard Hatfield, and Rev. Danny Williams presiding.  Music will be provided by Andrew Ayers, Rex Tuttle, and Derek Massengill.

Graveside services will be held at the Red Hill Cemetery in Harrogate, Tennessee on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 11:00a.m.  Family and friends will meet at Green Hills Funeral Home at 10:00a.m. to follow in procession.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Turner, Scottie Surber, Brandon Surber, Joe Berry, Leo Surber, and Leon Surber.  Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Clounce and Vince Surber.
