MYRTLE BRITTON Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and profound gratitude that we announce the passing of Mrytle Irene Britton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2025 at the age of 79.

Myrtle was a woman of unwavering faith, whose love for God was the foundation of her life. She devoted herself to her family, her church, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with kindness, grace, and an infectious joy. Her heart for service was evident in all that she did, always seeking to uplift others and share the love of Christ.

As a loving wife to Earl Wayne Britton exemplified patience, wisdom, and deep devotion. As a mother and grandmother, she was a constant source of love and support, nurturing her children and grandchildren with the same tender care that she gave to all those she loved. Her home was a sanctuary of peace and joy, where faith was cherished and shared. Her unwavering trust in God’s plan and her commitment to living out His will was an inspiration to all who knew her. 

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all those whose lives she touched. Myrtle was born December 8, 1945 in Bell County, Kentucky, to the late Clendall Robbins and Martha Howerton Robbins Redmond Miracle.  Myrtle and Earl Wayne were married on April 6, 1963 and she was a faithful member of the Binghamtown Baptist Church for 50 years.

In addition to her parents Clendall Robbins and Martha Howerton Robbins Redmond Miracle, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Wayne Britton, sisters Marie Robbins Denny (Herman), Beatrice Robbins Cook (Jerry), brother Cleudus Robbins, Father and Mother-in-law Rev. William “Bill” and Eulalee Hopper Britton.

She is survived by her children Tammie (Joe) Beason, Russell Britton, granddaughters Brittony (Blake) Pique, Samantha (Dylan) Allen, great-grandchildren Ella Grace Allen, Levi Mason Allen, brothers Leroy (Carolyn Robbins) Robbins, Elwood (Carolyn Lemar) Robbins, special nephew Joey Britton, aunt Alberta Howerton (Johnny) Fuson, sister and brother-in-laws Joyce (Dickie) Siler, JB (Nancy) Britton, Steve (Vickie) Britton, special friend Ann Westbrook and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Green Hills Funeral Home with Dr. William Boyd Bingham officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1 at the Shoffner Cemetery in Harrogate, Tennessee. The family will leave Green Hills Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. to follow in procession.  Pallbearers will be Blake Pique, Dylan Allen, JB Britton, Floyd Patterson and Herman Denny.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Britton, Joey Britton and Jack Ball.
