PAUL JUSTICE

Paul Edward Justice, Sr., age 79, of Harrogate, peacefully passed away on March 11, 2022 at Tri-State Health Care Facility in Harrogate, TN. 

Paul was born at home to Rev. William Lee and Lillian Moore Justice on June 30, 1942 in Middlesboro, KY.  He married Doris Jane Hunley on March 26, 1965, in Middlesboro, KY.  They were married for over 50 years. He was a devoted husband, father, church member, business owner and community service worker.  If you ask Paul what was his most important title, he would say a servant of Jesus Christ. He worked for the Middlesboro Fire Department and Ambulance Service for over 15 years.   

Paul was committed to and humble in his faith in God.  He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for 30 years where he served as music director for 20 years and at Gap Creek Baptist Church for 3 years.  He loved to read and teach the Holy Bible to anyone who would listen. His wisdom will live through his legacy, which was to love faithfully, work hard, and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.  He will live in our hearts and memories forever. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Doris Justice, sister Barbara Justice Hughes (Doug), brothers Glen Justice, Wendell Justice brother-in-law Milton Goins, sister-in-law Sherlie Hunley, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Norman and Emma Lee Hunley .

Paul is survived by the following members of his family; his children, Paul Justice Jr., Jayna Justice, Julia Justice Wilhoit and husband David Wilhoit, Jamie Justice, and Erica Justice; his grandchildren, Sy Justice, Dom Justice, Cierra Justice, Hannah Faith Wilhoit Smiddy and husband Dawson Smiddy, Hunter Wilhoit, Colton Wilhoit, Jackson “JJ” Wilhoit, Daniel Cooper; great-grandchildren Sy’Niyah, Kaiden Justice, and Karter Justice.  

His sister Phyllis Goins of Johnson City, TN; brothers William V. Justice of Knoxville, TN, Bob Justice (Wilma) of Middlesboro, KY, Wayne Justice (Elizabeth) of Strawberry Plaines, TN; brother-in-laws Dennis Hunley, Norman Hunley and Larry Hunley of Greeneville, TN; special friend Shannon Powers, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.  

The Family of Paul Justice will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Medley and Rev. Tracy Neeley of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Alvie Cunningham and the Trinity Baptist Church Choir.

Interment to immediately follow at Meador Cemetery, Harrogate, TN.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Wilhoit, Dawson Smiddy, Tim Grubbs, Kevin Medley, Mike Webb, and Todd Ralston.

Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons and Choir members of Trinity Baptist Church. 

The family of Mr. Justice wishes to extend our sincere thanks to members of Trinity Baptist Church and to the staff at Tri-State Health Care for showing love to our beloved “Pappy.”
