Paulette Johnson Hughett, age 82, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2026.
She was born March 19, 1943, in Straight Creek, Kentucky to the late Edward and Mary Cox Johnson.
Paulette was the true definition of a godly, Proverbs 31 woman: virtuous, clothed in strength and honor, a caretaker of her husband and household and bearing the fruits of love. Her price is far above rubies, her good life a testament of her unwavering faith in the Lord and His sweet salvation. Saved at an early age, she dedicated her life to serving the Lord, and enjoyed worshipping Him through song at her beloved church, Trinity Full Gospel.
A homemaker, Paulette saw to the needs of her home and family. She continually poured her love into her husband, children and especially her grandchildren. Her goodness and tender care likewise extended to her church family - her heart an open vessel of genuine love.
Paulette’s faith will continue to bear fruit upon her home and loved ones, her godliness an example for others, and her love a flowing comfort felt for years to come. “ Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dwain Hughett, granddaughter Myranda Hughett, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Left to cherish her legacy, loving husband Billy Ray Hughett Sr., sons Billy Ray Hughett Jr., Larry Wayne Hughett Sr. and wife Dani Jo, daughter Melissa Gail Idol and husband Michael Joe Idol Sr., brothers Billy Joe Johnson and Tony Johnson, sister Peggy Brooks, grandchildren Justin and Summer Hughett, Michael Joe Jr. and Danielle Idol, Dalton Hughett, Larry Wayne Hughett Jr., Ashley Hughett, Brittany Hughett, and Sarah Padworski, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends, too numerous to name but all who will cherish and miss her so dearly.
