Randle Raymond Short, age 84, of Harrogate, Tennessee, passed away February 6, 2026.
Randle was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky to Charles and Ruby Barnett Short on February 12, 1941.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Alberta Short, the mother of his children, his son Audie Short, stepson Greg Corum, brother Carl Short, and sister Linda Hazelwood.
Randle was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Hensley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a very hard-working man, who loved to farm and was an outstanding mechanic. He loved the Lord and was thankful for his family whom he loved to spend time with; enjoying the conversations, shared meals, and good times. He was a humble gentleman who put others’ needs ahead of his own.
He leaves behind his wife, Joyce Short, his son, Hank Short, his daughters, Verita Short, Connie Gibson (Gerald), step-daughters, Tammie Ballerini (Ed), Crystal Overstreet (Brian), sisters, Devauda Mullins (Dana), Jewel Parker (James), Wanda Shackelford, Bartie Sampson (W.K.), Roberta Arnett, grandchildren, Jessica Cupp, B.J. Short, Ryan Gibson, Aaron Short, Matthew Short, Clint Shoffner, Sarah Hamlett, Dalton Short, step-grandchildren, Jennifer Brown, Ashley Bealer, Haley Wilson, Jena Wilson, Miranda Corum, Alissa Evans, Tyler Corum, great-granchildren, Ethan Short, Parker Gibson, Maci Short, Asa Short, Ily Short, Cree Short, Kaylee Shoffner, Cooper Shoffner, Luke Hamlett, Zach Hamlett, step-great-grandchildren, Wade Brown, Jace Brown, Graham Bealer, Isaiah Bealer, Samuel Bealer, Riley Corum, Matti Corum, step-daughter-in-law Katrina Corum and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and precious friends who will miss him dearly.
The family of Randle Short will receive friends at Green Hills Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 with Rev. Mike Sutton and Bro. Andrew Hamlett officiating.
Graveside services will follow in the Turner Cemetery in Colmar, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be Clint Shoffner, Danny Cupp, Gerald Gibson, Matthew Short, and B.J. Short.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Hensley’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Youth Group.
