SARAH PAULINE CUPP BAKER

Sarah Pauline Cupp Baker, age 78, of Ewing, Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Savior May 19, 2024 at Tri State Nursing and Rehab in Harrogate, Tennessee.

She was born December 6, 1945 in Lee County, Virginia to the late Robert and Amanda Hatfield Hounshell.

Sarah was gloriously saved at a young age at Yeary’s Chapel and lived a wonderful Christian life.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved gardening and working in her yard.  She also enjoyed any chance that arose to travel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband James Lewis Cupp, her second husband Clayton Baker, stepfather Bill Bennette, son Eddie Cupp, daughter-in-law Patsy Cupp, brother Earl Hounshell.

Left to cherish her memory, sons James (Charlotte) Cupp, Hank Cupp, Ricky Cupp, brother Junior (Teresa) Bennette, sister Christine Gibson, grandchildren James Cupp, Jason (Victoria) Cupp, Nikki (Kevin) Bussell, Brittany (James Messer) Cupp, Heather (Billy) Lesak, Stephanie (Michael) Mink, Jamie Cupp, Sarah Cupp, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly. 

The family would like to extend and express heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Tri State Nursing and Rehab for the care and support that they gave to our precious mother while she was a resident.

The family of Sarah Baker will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. noon Thursday, May 23, 2024 with Rev. Jody Moore officiating.  Music will be provided by Jody and Miranda Moore.

Graveside services will follow at Jones Cemetery in Ewing, Virginia.

James Cupp, Jason Cupp, Kevin Bussell, James Messer, Billy Lesak, and Michael Mink will serve as pallbearers.
