STEVEN RAY SMITH

Steven Ray Smith, age 61, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2026.

He was born on August 18, 1964 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late James H. and Joyce Faye Miller Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents James Edward and Evelyn York Smith and Jim and Aline Ward Miller. Uncles Bill Smith, Jimmy Lee Smith, Ulyses Gene “Jabo” Smith and Marvin Miller. Aunt Barbara Hunley Smith.

Most knew Steve from his 30 plus years of service at Carquest Auto Parts. He was a master in auto parts, particularly in mixing paint. He was loved by his customers and loved them in return. He enjoyed retirement spending time detailing cars, adding to his massive record collection, and spending time with his family and you could bet he’d be showing you a picture of his granddaughter Ivy James. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Stephanie (Derrick) Lindsay and his granddaughter, Ivy James Lindsay, Brother Greg (Kim) Smith, Nephew Cameron Smith (Chloe Paul), and niece MaKenna Smith, Aunts Carolyn (Danny Patterson), Doris Ann Smith, Georgie Harris and Bonnie Smith, Uncle Alvie (Martha) Smith, as well as a host of other family and many friends who will miss him dearly.

The family of Steve Smith will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Green Hills Funeral Home. 

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Hoskins presiding. Music will be provided by the Lighthouse Singers. 

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2026 at Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will gather at the Gazebo Chapel. 

Pallbearers will be Cameron Smith, Derrick Lindsay, Shawn Smith, Scott Smith, Jared Sowders, Paul Sowders, Gerald Branham and Dale Hoskins.
