THEATHEL U. (WHITE) GIBBONS

Theathel U. Gibbons, 83, of Ewing, VA was born March 25, 1937, in Sharps Chapel, TN. and gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Middlesboro, KY.

The daughter of the late Esco and Liza (Lizzy) White, she was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Harrogate, TN. She was a former of employee of Excello shirt factory and loved to garden, cook, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, L.B. Gibbons; sisters, Elena (Bryant) Duncan, Vinnie (Jack) Dyke, Juanita (Jay) Duncan, Willie (Roy) Brantley, Evon (Harvey) Wheland; two brothers Willard (Sharron) White, and Delbert (Reva Mae) White; and brother-in-law Martin Gibbons

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Roger) Massengill of Harrogate,TN, sister, Jean Gibbons, Ewing, VA.; grandsons, Derek (Alisha) Massengill of Harrogate, TN, Matthew (Gerena) Massengill of Morristown, TN; great grandchildren, Deklin, Cayden, and Abby Massengill, and Raegan Parrott; also a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Private visitation and service will be at the Green Hills Funeral Home on Thursday, December 10, 2020 with Rev. Leonard Hatfield and Rev. Preston Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Derek and Matthew Massengill. A private graveside service will be on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Susong Cemetery in Ewing, VA. Pallbearers will be Derek Massengill, Matthew Massengill, Roger Massengill, Andrew Ayers, John Cheek, and Josh Cheek. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, visitation and services will be private with protective mask and social distancing strongly encouraged. The family asked that face mask be worn at all times and social distancing be practiced as much as possible. If you feel sick, PLEASE only send condolences either by phone, text, or mail.
