his wife of 34 years, Yvonne Baker, his daughters Erica Overbay (Jack), and

Tom was a teacher at Bell County High School and taught with the
Bell County School System for 28 years, where he was beloved by his students.
He was the academic team coach for many years, as well as the Bell County Lady
Cats Pitching Coach and Assistant Coach from 2000 - 2004. He was once named
Teacher of the Year. With a true heart for teaching, Tom believed that
every child had the ability to learn and that each child was capable of
achieving great things. He always believed in his students and pushed them to
always believe in themselves. Tom believed that humans are inherently good, and
he continuously strived to see the best in people, and the best in life. He
passed on these values to his children and always taught them, above all, to
love. Tom’s love for his family, friends, and students is his greatest legacy.
