THOMAS SPILLMAN

Thomas C. Spillman, age 88, passed away on May 16, 2024, at Life Care Center of Punta Gorda, Florida, after a lengthy illness. A former resident of Middlesboro, KY and Harrogate, TN, he had made his home in Punta Gorda, Florida the past two years.

He was born March 9, 1936 in Verda, KY the son of the late Farris and Pearly Moretz Spillman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Michael Thomas Spillman.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wanda Helton Spillman, his daughter Kimberly Spillman Hogan and her husband Marcus, his granddaughter Kara Oxford Fales (Matthew), great-grandsons Colston , Caden and Cameron Fales, all of Babcock Ranch,FL, his grandson Ryan Spillman Oxford (Xi), great-granddaughters Aja-Mei, Adelaide and Amelia Oxford, all of Port Charlotte, FL, his brother-in-law who was like a brother to him, Allen Helton (Carol) of Glasgow, KY, his niece Lisa Squires (Allen) of Fairview NC, and his nephew Randall Helton of Flatwoods, KY, and numerous friends. He loved his family dearly and the love was returned.

He was retired from Middlesboro Coca-Cola Bottling having spent 28 years there. He had also worked for Blue Diamond Coal Company at Leatherwood, KY before moving to Middlesboro.

He was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church, Middlesboro, KY where he had served in numerous capacities over the years. He loved and supported his church and attended faithfully until his health failed.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Trinity Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm with Rev. Keith Medley officiating. Music will be provided by Alva Cunningham and Bruce Messer.

Graveside services will immediately follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tracy Neeley officiating.

Pallbearers will be Marcus Hogan, Allen Helton, William Johnson, Dr. Chris Yonts, Allen Squires and Rev. Tracy Neeley.

Honorary pallbearers are David Wilhoit and Michael Justice.
